This morning we got to meet and have coffee with Tony & Kimberly Merida, the preaching pastor and his wife at the new church that we’ve been attending. At their recommendation we met at Jubala Coffee; they also highly suggested that we try the homemade waffles. Have mercy on my soul, it was a.maz.ing!
This is how they serve their coffee. Isn’t it pretty? Almost too pretty to drink, but not quite. While we sat and admired our beautiful java and tried our best to use our manners and not inhale the chocolate chip waffle, Tony and Kimberly let us pick their brains about adoption. They shared their vision of the role that the Church should play in helping orphans, and also their amazing story of bringing home their five children from Ukraine & Ethiopia. Tony actually co-authored a book about gospel-centered adoption called Orphanology. It was a great morning. I’m so thankful for the relationships and experiences we are gaining on this journey!
